If you travel 3510 km from the coast of chile you will find a little island containing giant sized statue. This is “Easter Island” . The statues made of volcanic rock and 33 to 66 ft tall.
where is easter islandThis mysterious island is located 3510 km west from chile. It is one of the lonely island. The nearest island is about 1300 km from Easter island.
The size of the island is small enough, only 25 km by 8km.
easter island mapIt is estimated that the first human to live in Easter island is 700-1100 B.C. It was invaded by the Spanish.And now this island has a population of 5000.
But the main mystery we will focus is on the statues of the Easter island known as “Moai” in local language. The Moais has not been constructed by putting stones on stones rather it has been carved. That is the steel hard volcanic rock has been cut to give a shape of the statue. Some of them weighs about 50 tons . Some of statues wears hats of red stones weighing 10 tons.

moai and manThor Heyerdahl who investigated about the statues of the Easter island found that there are hundreds of unfinished statues in the rocks and in the crates. There are stone axe and tools scattered near the statues which indicates that the builders suddenly stopped statue construction.
But the problem arises when we find that the Easter island is a land made up of volcanic rock and no big trees grows upon it. And the nearest island is about 1300 kilometers away so no chance of importing wood logs from outside. So how they made a 66 ft tall Moai. How they cut the steel hard volcanic rock. With a simple stone axe!!!
How they carved the statues and transported them when they have no wooden log? How they polished and erected the statues?
Many people argue that the Egyptian pyramid has been constructed by a large army who rolled the rocks on wooden rollers. But what about the Easter island? Who provide foods and clothing to the workers of the statue on this small island.
The island contains about 5000 people now a days. But in 400 B.C. , was the population same. The answer is certainly not. Then who cut the volcanic rock to make a statue which is a tough task even in this modern age.
Was the island connected to a main land that was destroyed by the action of volcano or earthquake in that ancient time (Which arises the theory of lost atlantes and ice age. But this is a story of another day). Or any creature of better intelligence helped the ancient people to do this? Why the statues were set at the periphery not at the center? Does it have any significance? Does it holds a message or signal ?

All the prodigies are not of same characteristics. The scientist researched on mathematics prodigy and found that some portion of their brain is works more than usual. That means prodigies has focused talent, That is he has talent on specific area like mathematics,music,medical science etc.
Some prodigy possesses a unusual IQ. The general range of IQ is 80-120 whereas some prodigy child posses a IQ of 200-250. Nearly double of a normal people.
Some people expressed this opinion that prodigy child has a developed motor nerve and possesses a better communication system between two sides of brain.
One interesting theory of child prodigy is that, prodigies masters on those areas which follows a systematic pattern and symbolic representation. For example playing chase which requires implementation according to some rule. Same theory is applicable for music. But the field or area which does not follow a definite pattern that is research work which requires lot of experience and lot of abstract thinking is difficult for the prodigies to master.
The biology of intelligence is still a mystery to the scientists. So the secret of prodigy will be mystery until the first problem is solved.

The Mayan Civilization was established in 2000 BC and was ruined within 800 to 900 AD.

The period of Maya civilization is broadly divided into five different time period—
- The pre classic period : They cultivated land, did husbandry, made stone tools and clay figurine. Rain was one of their god which was worshiped by them.
- The Classic Period: They got skilled in astronomy, architecture and agriculture. At that time the built pyramids and built Mayan calender.The population of the civilization reached in peak at this stage.This development was in the southern low land.
- The Collapse: The population declined due to foreign invasion,environmental disaster and diseases. The southern low land came to an end.
- Post Classic Period: The Mayan developed in the northern region. The build the Chichen Itza, and other cities in the north.
- The Colonial period: The Spanish came. They occupied the Yucatan Territory and Seized the gold and silvers from different parts of their country and ruled the Mayan over 150 Years.
Thus the Story of Mayan Civilization came to an end.

Airport parking a new remedy of congestion
Published May 4, 2011 | Most of the big city has a problem the traffic congestion or traffic jam. And the basic cause of the traffic congestion is that the road capacity is not up to the traffic demand. And if you do a traffic survey in a busy road of a metropolitan city you will find that there are nearly 50 to 75% traffic are “private cars”. And they cause congestion when they are parked in front of shopping centers or schools or hospitals. And it is expensive to build a separate parking facility in a busy commercial area. Inside Blue Ray disc
Published April 30, 2011 | What is a blue ray disc? This is a high definition optical drive used to store data. A compact disc can contain up to 700 -800 MB of data, where as a DVD can store up to 4.7 GB and a blue ray disk can store up to 50 GB.

But before we start to discuss with the technology related to blue ray disk we first have to take a look on the basics of a optical drive or the basics of a normal CD ROM.
Let us take a look on the CD material
The CD is a printed Plastic disk. If we look through a microscope we cab see small humps in the body of the disk. A reflective aluminum layer is placed behind the CD to facilitate reflection of laser. And a acrylic is sprayed over the aluminum to protect it . The hump is printed in a spiral shape
The left image shows the microscopic view of a CD and the left one shows the schematic view of CD tracks i.e. how the CD tracks are laid. If you stretch the CD tracks into a line it will be several kilometers long.
Whats new in blue ray
The CD, DVD and the Blue ray disk uses the same technology. But the difference is in the size of the humps and the reading leaser. DVD uses a smaller humps and uses a shorter wavelength leaser to read the disk.Where as the blue ray disk uses smaller humps than the DVD and smaller wavelength of laser to red the disk let us take a close look at the picture.

How the player works
The CD,DVD,Blue ray player uses laser lights to read the disk. Wen the laser hits the plain portion it is reflected and detected in the sensor but whwn the hump arrives the laser gets deflected and does not detected by the sensor.
Thus the sensor generates a 101010 signal or binary signal depending on the frequency of the humps and their spacing and length. This binary signal is then converted into analog signal through suitable electronic device. And when this analog signal passes through your loud speaker or computer monitor or TV you can hear sounds and watch video.

Published April 23, 2011 | space shuttles are like a shuttle bus between space and earth. The main components of the space shuttle are a main rocket or orbiter, two booster rocket and one external tank.

The external tank contains hydrogen and oxygen for the orbiter.
The booster rockets are reusable fuel compartment which provides additional boost to the main engine. When the shuttle go about 28 miles the booster rockets are disconnected from the shuttle. They are equipped with parachute so that they can safely land on earth and can be used for next mission.
The orbiter is the main component of the space shuttle it contains crew and cargo for space mission. It is about 184 feet long and has about 74 feet wide wings. It can carry about 65000 pounds cargo.

The black hole contains so much mass in a small volume that it is capable of attracting lights. The general phenomena to see anything is that, when a light reflects from a body or matter we can see them. But from black hole nothing is reflected. So one can see nothing but dark hole.

The black holes has a area of influence into which light waves get sucked by the black hole. this area of influence is called Event horizon. The more the mass of the black hole central matter the more the size. The scientists found the radius of the black holes from 6 miles to 37 billion miles.

There are several stages in the life of a star.
Evaluation of a star:
The planetary gas that remains in the universe are of varying density. Where the density is more the force of gravity pulls the particles of gases together which forms a dense cloud like substance. this is the primary stage of a star. These clouds is known as nebula.

Youth or Life of stars:
The composition of nebula is complex enough. But the most dominating substance in nebula is Hydrogen gas. The nebula get concentrated by the attraction of gravity and when they comes close enough, there starts a nuclear reaction between Hydrogen molecules, In this phase two hydrogen atoms goes through the nuclear reaction called fusion and produces helium gas. Now the force of gravity that pulls down the gaseous material together is counterbalanced by the force of nuclear reaction and the star comes to a steady state. This is the life of the stars.
The Old Star:
When the hydrogen in the stars is finished then then the life of the star comes to an end. As the supply of hydrogen has run out the nuclear reaction of hydrogen fusion stops. As a result the outward pressure of the star is less and gravity dominates which pulls the remaining helium gases and and a new nuclear reaction starts in which the helium burns and produces carbon and oxygen. In this stage the luminosity of the stars is incrased much more and they are known as red giants

Depending on the mass available different phenomena takes place. when the mass is smaller that is less than eight times of sun’s mass the red giants converted into planetary nebula and the center of the star converted to small size white dwarfs and in course of time the white dwarfs converted into black dwarfs.

When the mass is more than 8 solar mass the star explodes to form supernova or nova. And after the supernova the star may become a pulsar or black hole.
